About Us

The Internet Sex Survey Initiative uses the Internet to increase our understanding of human sexuality. We are interested in, for instance, whether sexual preferences are genetically inherited or acquired culturally, and how specific events can mold our preferences. You can help us find the answers to these questions by taking part in our surveys.

The Internet Sex Survey Initiative is run by researchers from different countries (see below) that cooperate for a better understanding of human sexuality. We integrate knowledge from many fields relevant to sexuality, such as psychology, medicine and ethology.

The project has been funded by the Tercentenary Fund of the Bank of Sweden, the Swedish Research Council, Marianne och Marcus Wallenbergs Stiftelse, the Italian Ministry of Education, University and Research.
